JK George was interviewed by Sinclair Noe regarding his new book, "Contact Sport: A Story of Champions, Airwaves, and a One-Day Race Around the World." The book not only chronicles the 2014 World Radiosport Team Championship in New England, but spins a mystical tale about the allure of radio waves and the mystical romanticism of hearing a signal come in from the other side of the world. The book is written for a non-technical audience, and especially for young people, in addition to covering the inside and background of an intensely competitive "contact sport" among the world's nearly two-million radio "hams."
KFNN, in Phoenix, AZ , will broadcast the discussion (most likely) in the evening of Monday, February 8th. The radio station (K-Finance) has a financial-news based format. Check out the program schedule here: http://www.moneyradio1510.com/Program-Schedule
Speaking personally, I was relaxed and at ease. Hopefully it shows in the broadcast. KFNN is a powerful AM station in the Phoenix area on 1510, but the interview probably will be run at night (drive time) and the station's power decreases greatly at night. However, the station has an FM outlet on 93.3, so the coverage will be good in the metro area. Sinclair Noe has a soothing voice and asked good (basic, but on target) questions. I appreciate the coverage.
From my own experience, my wife often orders books after hearing an author interviewed on radio (usually NPR), and so we shall see if some orders start coming in from Lansing, Michigan and the Phoenix areas, where my first two interviews have taken place. "We shall see," as the old adage goes. I enjoy these interviews and hope to continue them on multiple stations.
Thanks to Sinclair Noe on KFNN (and to Michael Cohen at WILS in Lansing) for the opportunity to be on with them.
