"Thanks to the Austin Amateur Radio Club for an invitation to speak at their July meeting on his well-received book "Contact Sport," including additional behind-the-scene stories of the World Radiosport Team Championship of 2014, which was held on New England in July. In addition, Jim will cover the competition itself, which resulted in one of most dramatic finishes ever, as well as some basics of radiosporting (contesting) and the work to publish and then promote a book with a world-wide audience."

I'm pleased to be a part of the 2017 Spring/Summer program of the Author-Speaker series at Chez Zee, a very popular and upscale Austin restaurant. This will be the third in the series, and the "Interview" format by Cari Clark has proven to be informative and informal. The programs are held in the adjacent "private events room," which is roomy and quiet. An additional bonus is an interesting swath of Austin peeps who attend these, always a fun and surprising group.
Wine and beer are available at the cash bar, as well as very nice finger food, which is part of the ticket price. Please reserve June 14 (a Wednesday) evening and join me there.
J.K. (Jim) George will be taking part at the Bastrop County A.R.C. event on March 25. He will be speaking on radio sporting in general and on "Contact Sport" in particular, taking questions and comments. The location is the Pavilion near Smithville, Texas.
There will be a meal served at about 12:30 p.m. and I (and others) have been invited to speak starting about 2 p.m. My talk will be on the subject of the World Radiosport Team Championship in 2014, and specifically my book on the subject.
Thanks to Betty and Mike Temple for the invitation and arrangements.
JK (Jim) George will take part in the "SwapFest," sponsored by the Williamson County Amateur Radio Club. Jim will take part March 18, 2017/
